Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Paul has trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with Russ Harris. Paul feels it compliments the Gestalt methodology well and Paul integrates some of the practices into his work. If you would like any information please feel free to ask Paul or click on this link.
Gestalt Therapy
The objective of Gestalt therapy is to enable people to live a flexible and creative life free from patterns of ‘fixed’ behaviour that can reduce self growth and a sense of satisfaction in their lives. Gestalt therapy also encourages self-responsibility through increasing self-awareness in relation to these fixed patterns, and includes a persons body mind spirit and culture. Gestalt therapy focuses on process (what is actually happening) rather than content (what is being talked about). The emphasis is on what is being done, thought, and felt at the present moment, rather than on what was, might be, could be, or should have been.
Gestalt Podcasts
Here, Paul is hosting a series of podcast interviews with other Gestalt Therapists to explore their lived experiences and to discover their views on a range of topics in the field of psychotherapy. It is Paul's intention that these interviews are very relaxed, with minimal scripted questions, allowing spontaneity and tangents. Paul's hope is that these podcasts may be a unifying medium for those studying, practising, or interested in Gestalt Therapy.
