Trauma
Trauma is the physiological imprint (body memory) of a highly distressing event. For this reason, purely cognitive approaches to trauma are very limited in scope. Body oriented approaches that are grounded in attachment theory, along with desensitisation processes such as Depth Enquiry or EMDR will provide the best outcomes. It is essential to find a therapist that you can develop a trusted working relationship with in order to move into the latter stages of trauma work. Resolving trauma takes time. Be gentle with yourself.
Couples & Relationships
Whatever your relationship structure, be it monogamous or open, all relationships face challenges. How you approach these challenges will determine the trajectory of your relationship. A relational psychotherapist can help clarify whatever differences exist within your relationship and whether it is the differences themselves that are causing tensions or the way in which these differences are being approached that is problematic. Common differences in allocation of time, money, parenting approaches, or sexual desire can be expressed more easily given the right template for navigating these differences.
Affairs
What is really required to recover from an affair? Regaining trust tends to be the first most obvious answer. However, if regaining trust was the only task, affair recovery would be a relatively simple process (whilst not easy). Recovering from affairs is multifaceted and much more complicated than most would like to admit. They work on us as individuals and challenge us to redefine ourselves and our relationships. They can promote profound relationship growth, spell the end, or leave couples in a state of relationship purgatory. A relational psychotherapist can help heighten awareness of common negative interaction cycles post affair, and develop ways to disrupt them. Additionally, highlighting what is required to move through the stages of affair recovery and form a vision of the future that is not defined by the affair.

Please be aware that for any cancellations or rescheduling within 48 hours of your appointment a $100 cancellation fee will be requested. Late cancellations prevent others from utilizing the available time. Please provide sufficient notice when cancelling or rescheduling.

Transport: Parking is metered and timed in this area, please allow additional time to park as there are limited parking spots and also some roadworks. Various buses pass by this location, look up public transport information on https://transportnsw.info/routes#/ Marketown Shopping Centre (the Coles end off Parry Street) is a short 5 minute walk to the clinic and has 3 hours free parking.
